Ultra Violet Baetis Nymph Fly Tying Materials



Taking inspiration from Czech fly tiers, this pattern is a great baetis imitation. It can be fished in the American or European styles of nymphing, and is incredibly effective when fished both ways! Tie in sizes 16-22.

-Materials:

Hook: Daiichi 1560 size 14-18
Bead: Tungsten Bead color of your choice. I prefer Black or Copper
Thread: Ultra Thread 70
Tail: Hareline Mayfly Tails or Microfibbets
Abdomen: Hareline Micro Tubing
Wing: UV (Ultra Violet) Grey, Pearl, Light Yellow, or Tan Ice Dub
Thorax: Nature’s Spirit Emergence Dubbing
