Fly Fishing Small Streams in the Black Hills
More small stream exploration today. We fished a couple of spots that I haven't fished much since my high school days. I have many good memories of fishing upper Spring Creek and Slate Creek with my first fly fishing partners Mike and Chris. Today I shared this adventure with another of my favorite fishing partners- Elsa. She didn't fish today but she almost netted a big brookie for me. Alas it fell off before we got it in the net. It was a beauty.
On today's outing I used the Scott F2 Fiberglass 7' 3 weight. This paired with a Rio Perception WF3f line is a great tool for small stream fishing. Hopper patterns were the ticket today. They crushed them!
