Semperfli Pro Grade CDC is a premium selection of large, carefully graded CDC feathers chosen for consistency, fibre quality and tying performance. Each pack contains 30 large feathers measuring approximately 5.5 cm to 6 cm, giving the fly tyer dependable material for high-quality dry flies, emergers, sedges, wings, posts and specialist CDC patterns.

CDC — Cul de Canard — is one of the most effective natural materials in fly tying. Its fine structure, mobility and exceptional ability to trap air make it ideal for patterns designed to sit naturally in or on the surface film.

WHAT IS CDC?

CDC stands for Cul de Canard, traditionally referring to the soft feathers found around the preen-gland area of waterfowl.

These feathers have an exceptionally fine, branched structure that traps tiny pockets of air.

That structure is one of the reasons CDC is so valuable to fly tyers. It can provide flotation, translucency, movement and a soft natural profile without requiring a heavy or bulky dressing.
