SA Shooting Taper Sink 6 (Type VI) is a fast-sinking, easy-to-cast 30' shooting head built for anglers who want distance and depth without committing to a full integrated sinking line. Long available in Argentina and parts of Europe, it’s now new to the U.S. market.
This is not a complete fly line—it’s only the sinking head. To fish it, you must pair it with a running line, and it performs best with a monofilament shooting running line (Amnesia-style/flat mono/etc.) to make the system shoot and turn over correctly.
The Sink 6 / Type VI density gets flies down quickly (approx. 6.0 – 7.5 ips), making it a great choice for surf and jetties, lakes, deep river buckets, and any situation where you need to cut through current or chop and keep the fly in the zone. Looped ends make rigging simple and quick for easy head swaps.
