Chewee Cranefly Larva Tying Materials
Craneflies are under represented in most fly angler’s boxes. In Black Hills streams, craneflies are incredibly abundant and the fish often will move out of their way to eat a juicy cranefly nymph. The weight of this easy to tie pattern helps get you down to the bottom, so it makes a great lead fly as well. Cranefly patterns are overlooked, but some of my biggest fish have been on a big cranefly fished on the bottom. Tie up a few, you won't be disappointed!
