Machined right in Montrose, Colorado and named for the Animas River that runs just upstream of the Ross factory, this reel delivers serious Western heritage with a dose of attitude.

Underneath the finish, everything that makes the Animas a favorite with guides and working anglers is still in place. A fully machined aluminum frame and spool keep it light without giving up any backbone, and the intricate porting shows off Ross's machining chops — right down to the signature Colorado mountain silhouette cut into the frame. The ultra-large, bell-shaped arbor geometry means fast line pickup and less memory in your fly line, so you stay connected when fish turn and run.
