Blue Winged Olives are one of our best hatches in our Black Hills Streams, as with many other trout waters throughout the country. There's a myriad of different BWO patterns, but a standard Parachute BWO will often produce just as well as anything else. This is definitely a pattern to always stock in your boxes!

Wing/Post: Grey or Dun Poly Yarn

Tail: Coq de Leon or Dun Hackle Fibers

Hackle: Whiting Dry Fly Hackle - Saddle or Neck Hackle dyed dun

Abdomen and Thorax: Nature's Spirit Fine Natural Dubbing
