The Hare's Ear Nymph has been a staple fly pattern in fly fishermen's boxes for decades, and for good reason - it works just about everywhere! This is a fairly simple tie, and is a great pattern for the beginning tier to learn. 

Materials

Hook: Tiemco 3761 or Daiichi 1560 

Thread: 70 denier ultra thread

Tail: Fox Squirrel Guard hairs or Hare's Mask Hair

Rib: Oval French Tinsel

Abdomen: Natural Hare's Ear Dubbing 

Wingcase: Cinnamon Turkey

Thorax: Natural Hare's Ear dubbing
