Bubble Backed Baetis Nymph Tying Materials

Guide Dave Gamet's Bubble Back Baetis Nymph is a great pattern to imitate the Blue Winged Olive nymphs that are prevalent in most trout streams. It fishes well both nymphed below an indicator, or dropped behind a dry fly when the BWO's are emerging. This is a year-round pattern for us here in the Black Hills, and it produces fish 12 months a year!

Materials

• Hook: Daiichi 1560
• Thread: 70 Denier Ultra Thread color to match natural
• Tail: Pheasant Tail Fibers, Hackle Fibers, or Coq de Leon
• Bead: Pearl or Silver Lined Midge Glass Bead
• Wire: Small Silver Ultra Wire
• Thorax: UV Hareline Ice Dub
