Scott Sector Fly Rod four piece saltwater warmwater fishing

Mike Allison our Scott Rep (also Echo, Waterworks Lamson, and Rainy's) will be on hand to show you the latest from Scott. The highlight will undoubtably be the new Scott Sector Fly Rod. While billed as a saltwater rod, the Sector has many models that cross over into streamer fishing and warmwater fishing. The 906/4 is touted by Scott as the finest 6 weight rod they have ever built. Be sure to get over to the shop and check them out and cast the new rods. Mike will have other product from Scott Fly Rods, Echo, Waterworks-Lamson, and Rainy's and will be available to answer any of your questions.

The demo will be Wednesday Sept 4th from 4pm-6pm. We will have refreshments and maybe have the grill going too!

More about the Scott Sector- Scott is replacing the Meridian Series with the new Sector Series. The Sector features new technology to increase stability during the cast and make lifting line easier. Basically they are engineered to cast more accurately and give the angler the ability to lift long lines for easy casting and changes of direction. Come down and cast them and see for yourself!

We are excited to see some of these rods given Scott Fly Rod's model descriptions for the Sector- take a look at these:

9' 6 Weight - 906/4 The best 6 weight we've ever made. There, we said it. Equally at home targeting small bones and reds as it is in the drift boat with streamers. This rod is still every bit a 6 weight but goes the extra mile in easily delivering flies on target with little effort. It never feels like a 8 weight in sheep's clothing but can outperform a lot of its bigger line weight cousins.

9' 8 Weight - 908/4 We kept the nice light feel in this rod that helps you make shorter quick shots easily, and powered it up so you can drive long casts into the wind. That same power helps pick up long lines off the water and change directions without feeling the rod torque off axis. This rod is remarkably a 20 to 100 foot caster. In a nutshell, that's about as ideal as an 8 wt gets. This is truly the do it all rod in the series for anything but the big boys.

9' 9 weight 4 Piece - 909/4 - Super rangy for a powerful 9 weight, this rod casts just off the tip in close all the way to the backing knot. In typical fishing distances, it is so efficient in generating line speed and loop control that it turns over the leader on target in all but gale conditions. The best part-it does this while feeling light and responsive. You don't need to push it. All it takes is one relaxed stroke and WOW! the line is far off and straightened out.
