Dakota Angler and Outfitter
is the only fly shop in the Black Hills and the entire state of South Dakota. Dakota Angler first opened in 1997. In 2006 longtime employee Hans Stephenson became the owner of the shop.Dakota Angler offers the largest selection of flyfishing tackle and fly tying materials in the Black Hills as well as fly fishing schools, casting classes, and guided trips. We carry Rods from Sage, Orvis, Scott, Redington, and Winston, along with reels from Bauer, Orvis, Sage, Scientific Anglers, and Ross Reels. Our massive selection of fly tying material fulfills the needs of the inland fly fisherman, the saltwater fly fisherman, as well as a section for the Classic Atlantic Salmon fly tier. Dakota Angler is also a dealer for Hobie and Outcast float crafts. Whether you are looking for a guided fishing trip, guided hunting trip, or hatch information, Dakota Angler and Outfitter will be happy to assist you in any way possible. Dakota Angler and Outfitter is the home of the Black Hills fly fishing community.

Steve's book offers amazing insight into just how much water there is to fish in the Black Hills. Even if you have fished in the Black Hills for years, there is a good chance you will discover many new waters to fish within the Black Hills.

From Interstate 90 - Take exit 57. At the end of the exit take a left onto Omaha St. Take your second right onto 7th street. We're just past the first street light, on the right side of the street. See you Soon!
From the South - Take route 79 into Rapid City (it will turn into Campbell St.) and then take a left onto Omaha St. Travel West on Omaha into the downtown area. Take a left onto 7th St. We're just past the first street light, on the right side of the street. See you Soon!
